Marjan Saeedi’s paintings are cliches. This term not only describes their technique and size but also their atmosphere which do not belong to here; an imaginary space of a clean and controlled party. Girls are invited to this party more than boys, or maybe the boys are wearing masquerade animal masks. Behind the fancy colours, distinct smiles, open arms, kisses and fashionable dresses, anxiety dominates. A visible stress in a smile, a static stress in a mask or hesitant step may be the only local elements penetrating the controlled space of the artist’s mind. An anticipated shock and fear do not allow the guests to relax.
