This artwork can be read through its context. The three editions of the photo was sold out in the first hours of the opening with a ‘professional’ price for photography in Iran. Although a good man’s wish would be that all artists sell all their artworks, still one can ask why this has happened to this particular picture in this series? (See the work here.) Because: the subject of the photo is a woman; it is a ‘beautiful’ photograph in the ordinary sense of the word; a formal event has happened in this photograph (the two photos are superimposed properly); but moreover, the sensual element of religion and its ‘holes’ are excavated in this work. And people love to see their grudge beautiful.
